Assignments done:

Firstly we had a group assignment with 3 students in a group.  We had to present the last week's topic of lecture in front of the class.  In addition er were to search for cases related to the topic.  The teacher would mark us on our knowledge on the topic after the Questions and Answers session.

Our second assignment was another group assignment among 6 students.  The coursework No. 2 was about Final Accounts.  We were asked to first prepare a report to the director explaining briefly the essential elements of the final account under which the Contract Sum would be adjusted.

After the issuance of the Certificate of Practical Completion, the Project Quantity Surveyor had completed his final measurement and valuation.  We were then required to prepare the Final Account for the bungalow project based of the  valuations and adjustments made to the Contract Sum.

Furthermore we had to explain the basis on how certain variations may be priced during the Final Account stage.

We were also given a class test to test our knowledge on the subject during the first half of the semester.

Reflections:

This subject has helped me to define the roles and responsibilities of the various parties involved in the contruction contracts in relation to particular clauses in the contract.

It has also enabled me to explain the various construction contracts, its limitations and constraints and also to define issues in interpreting the contract clauses of construction contract.

I can now easily describe team dynamics, power of teams and teamwork in construction contracts,
